YouTube TV is a paid over-the-top content (OTT) MVPD streaming subscription service available for YouTube in the United States. It offers live streaming of programs from the five major broadcast networks in the U.S., as well as other channels. YouTube Red original content can be accessed for an additional subscription fee.
The service was launched on 28 February 2017 for showcasing live broadcast of several major networks in the U.S., including ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, NBC, and others, at the price of US$40 per month.

History
On 28 February 2017, in a press announcement held at YouTube Space Los Angeles, YouTube announced the launch of YouTube TV, an over-the-top MVPD-style subscription service that would be available for United States customers at a price of US$35 per month. Initially launching in five major markets (New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and San Francisco) on 5 April 2017, the service offers live streams of programming from the five major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox and NBC), as well as approximately 40 cable channels owned by the corporate parents of those networks, The Walt Disney Company, CBS Corporation, 21st Century Fox, NBCUniversal and Turner Broadcasting System (including among others Bravo, USA Network, Syfy, Disney Channel, CNN, Cartoon Network, E!, Fox Sports 1, Freeform, FX and ESPN). Subscribers can also receive Showtime and Fox Soccer Plus as an optional strap-on for an extra fee, and can access YouTube Red original content. On 3 March YouTube announced a deal with Major League Baseball (MLB), adding MLB Network content to the service. On 29 March YouTube announced a update which allows the subscribers to see live channels per section.

Features
A YouTube TV subscription allows users to watch videos on demand without advertisements across the website and it's mobile apps, including the dedicated YouTube Red and other services and their DVR libraries. Through the apps, users can also save videos to their DVR for offline viewing, play them in the background, and in picture-in-picture mode in their televisions. YouTube TV is also available through smart TVs and set-top boxes such as Roku, Apple TV, as well as mobile apps. YouTube TV may also be watched on the Xbox One console.
